[Boatanchors] Sunday HCI Net, Sunspots Or Not

Please join us on Sunday September 18th for the HCI 20 meter Net. There will be
three special announcements you may wish to hear. One concerns a used parts
vender, another for a new NCS station and the last for a new Editor for the HCI
web site. 	

The pre-Net portion will commence at or about 12:45 PM EDT, (1645 UTC). The Net
proper will begin at 1:15 PM EDT, (1715 UTC). 	

The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- (Just for my friend who coined the new
term DH, Tom, I will be on 14.292 MHZ usb!) for key clicks, mike splatter and
some really atrocious relay clattering and chattering in an Asian area dialect
from replacement TR relays manufactured in Shyna, assembled in the Fillapeens,
with parts made in Packastand. (spelling altered to prevent filtration by
software filters!) These things chatter worse than a bone naked skeleton on
Halloween night caught in the above ground cold without his grave blanket! With
a few slight mods, this thing might even qualify as a spark gap transmitter! Can
you imagine how SSB would sound on a spark gap TX? Hmmm. Like would that
eradicate adjacent frequency too close for comfort QSO's or "what 3KHZ rule"
Contestors? 	

The digital video disk that features the only William Halligan, Sr. alive, in
the flesh, unscripted video, about forty-five minutes worth, (popcorn is not
supplied!) is currently being readied for production. This disk includes
numerous typewriter typed text transcripts, original Hallicrafters ads starting
with their first one for the H13 in late 1933 in the Radio News and showing
various incarnations of the Skyrider, Super Skyrider, Skybuddy etc. through
1938. All scanned from the actual original ads! Quite a few photos, mostly black
and white, but some color, including; Bill Halligan at the United Nations Ham
station, Bill at the David Sarnoff awards banquet where he was given a lifetime
achievement citation, Bill with numerous other well known Hams, Bill's Ham
station in his Miami apartment, Bill, wife Katie, Max HB9RS and Max's wife
Renate in front of the Halligan's apartment, Bill at the QCWA for the Hall Of
Fame induction, Bill and Max in the De Henseler's apartment in NYC just before
the video tape of Bill was filmed in November 1983, the famous lighthouse legend
the "Waving Girl" of Savannah, Georgia, Bill and Carl Mosley and more. Both
original QSL cards of Bill Halligan, Sr. W4AK and W9AC, Bill's $18 banquet
ticket for the Cleveland QCWA meeting in September 1981, Bill selling a Skybuddy
at a flea market and more.	

The two CD set coming on Halloween, provided it does not get spooked or stolen
by aheadless Donkeyman, goes into production in early October. Featuring the
forty+ minute over a restaurant meal discussion between Bill Halligan, Sr. and
Dr. Max De Henseler, covering unique history making incidents and fascinating
events that took place as Bill departed West Point for a date with destiny. This
is one of a kind audio never before heard by the public! Hear the incredible
forty-two minute presentation by former Hallicrafters Chief Engineer, Fritz
Franke, see a B/W 8X10 of him too!, that rewrites history! This is the absolute
most awesome forty-two minutes of mind blowing material you may ever hear in
your entire life!    	

Hear the original "Amazing World Of Short-Wave" produced on a 45 rpm single by
Hallicrafters in about 1959. Fifteen minutes of live, not studio recreations!,

Kilimanjaro, President Dwight David Eisenhower wishing the world "peace on

Hear William Halligan's acceptance speech for the QCWA highest honor, their Hall
Of Fame. Additionally enjoy his witty and fascinating speech to the convention
audience and learn what his wife Katie meant by "KISS"! A terrific twenty slide
show, audio only unfortunately, by Mr. Chuck Dachis, a Ham of only seven years
then, his incredible collection 'then'!, really awesome, from Dayton 1981. Plus
much more audio, typed transcripts of the Fritz Franke presentation, Bill's
acceptance speech and several more. 	

W4WTO, Bob Harmon of Savannah, GA is working to document the "Waving Girl"
monument in Savannah, GA like 'NEVER' done before! Although I am including
reproduced images from original slides on the DVD, the monument was moved from
the actual 1977 dedication site due to the Atlanta Olympics, Bob will be
providing fresh images of her new QTH and a new article that covers her
historical place in the lives of uncounted sailers for forty-four years.	

K0EWU, 'old' Jack Iverson, Chicago, IL has graciously sent me rare 'one of a
kind' photos, documents and articles about Fritz Franke and Hallicrafters. This
material will be included on one of the three twin CD sets scheduled to be
released every four months of 2006!

Although they are nearly gone, the first 100 of the digital video disks and two
CD sets are certified with a document and numeric identification number. Only
the first 100 have this, and it will NEVER be done again! There is no difference
in price between the certified copies and the not certified copies that begin
after the first 100 have been shipped. You can get individual pricing on the HCI
web site, but the certified DVD and two CD set, shipped, is $43 in USA funds. 	

I hope to hear many of you later today, as it is now 2:16 AM EDT! One of you
call the red den/office hotline about noon today and as the Coasters said, 'Wake
me! Shake me! Don't let me sleep too late!' Here is hoping for some normal
propagation so that we can sell some parts for Gary 'Mr. Parts' Brown, some
books for somebody or other, get some items you have not been able to find,
found and get one of the tech wizards to heal your unhealthy rig. I will hear
