Hello,

Yesterday the WRL Q-multiplier arrived and it's in very nice condition.
The cabinet is gray hammertone and polished up very well, looks nearly
new. The front panel also looked nice. The only noticeable blems seems
to be around the cabinet seam on the bottom of the case.

Opening it up revealed one "Tiny Chief" pink capacitor which I
replaced. It was easy to disconnect the leads from the main filter can
and install new filters under the chassis, leaving the chassis mounted
can in place for appearance's sake.

A few notes.

1. The tube is a type 5751, not sure if it's original as I haven't got
a schematic.
2. The rectifier is a gold colored "Tophat" style with leads. Can't see
a number without removing it. Probably original equipment as the
terminal strips etc are arranged to "fit" it. So that places the age of
the unit as "newer than selenium rectifiers".
3. There are TWO slug tuned coils with outer ferrite shields. The
input lead connects to one of these with the other side going to ground
through a .005uF disk capacitor.
4. I plan on "reverse engineering" this unit and draw it's schematic.
When I do that I'll post it on my website for the benefit of others.
5. The ads said that it was usable on AC/DC receivers, but the cable
shield of this unit goes directly to the chassis, so on an AC/DC
receiver you'd want to be sure to connect it to a "power line isolated"
point in the receiver.
