[Boatanchors] RME 4350

I own 2 RME 4350 and have a few questions if anyone out there is familiar 
with this receiver.

1) did the 4350A have that designated on the front panel.  I think one of 
mine is the A model but has no separate nomenclature.  It does have the "A" 
as the last digit in the serial number

2) what is the proper knob for this receiver.  One has a silver, two part 
knob the other just has the standard black with pointer area.  Both work 
well with the vernier system.  I always thought it was the two part silver 
but the one with the black works just as well

3) any reason why one would have no serial number and have a little plate 
tacked on to the front that says "dual conversion receiver"  Sort of weird 
to have no SN on it.
