Also known as a grid dip oscillator :)

In lovely condition, complete set of coils with serial number that
matches the oscillator/capacitor unit. Covers 2-400Mc/s. Uses an acorn
tube in the front end; 0D3 and 5Y3GT in the base unit).

Unit produces a carrier at the right frequency and grid current seems to
do the right thing near lossy objects. I haven't calibrated it or tested
it against a resonant circuit of known frequency.
