Hi Frank:

Thanks for the note on the subject.

A "Non-inductive" winding can be had by winding a bifilar wire into a coil
form with one end having the two wires connected.

Or, doubling up a single wire ( to eliminate the need to solder two ends )
and then winding.

I believe this method is called Aryton-Perry and resistor companies like
Reidon make their non-inductives this way.

To a large degree, the inductive coupling between each wire is minimized by
opposing fields.

Like Life in all aspects, life in the High Frequencies is not perfect and
there will be both inductance and capacitance of some hopefully small and
acceptable value.

I found that 1930 article: August 1930 page 15.
It has a goodly amount of reactance but is meant to be a tunable dummy load -
50 ohms had not been standardized yet.
Sounds most inviting; I'll report if/when I make it a get any meaningful
results.

My B&W type JWL is not really adjustable without 'finger effort'.
The center 3 turns can be moved off coil axis but deformation and wire stress
will occur.
There are some nice mechanical actuated linked coils and I think the Johnson
Matchbox may have one?
Have to keep any eye out for one at the 'fests.
