This past weekend during a visit to Tucson, I made the requisite visit to
the Pima Air Museum (I am a pilot, after all!).

Most have heard that JFK had a Hallicrafters SX-62 installed in his
compartment on the Columbine, a VC-118 a.k.a. DC-6, but did you know there
is another BA visible?

A bit forward of the presidential compartment is the press compartment
complete with an S-20R mounted over a teletype machine, ostensibly to copy
press teletype while hammering through the sky! At least that is the story
from the docents.

Of course the forward avionics bay just inside the forward entrance is full
of typical aircraft radios. I didn't get to spend much time gawking or I
would have held up the crowd, but it looks like a couple of 618Ts or 618Ss
in there along with some VHF and Nav stuff.

I wonder if all the other old flying machinery still has lots of boatanchors
inside? Would be fun to find out.
