The only way I know how to do it is by "successive approximation", i.e., 
set the high end, pull the coil set, tweak the "half turn", reinsert and 
check.  If you keep notes as you go it isn't too bad.  Same problem on 
the HRO-50 and 60, so it didn't get any better.
