ME GOOFUS!    I should have looked in Chuck Dachis book b4 I made
statements as I did.

on close inspection of a factory original I see all of the front screws
are black 

binder head 10/32 things, not a shiney one in the lot.

I have been told by a factory guru that some were furnished withe cup
washer

and tapered screw, these had a soft washer behind so as not to damage the
panel paint.
