Hi all,
I'm just finishing up with the BC-224 overhaul for a friend (FINALLY!).
This set was one royal pain in the backside as it had been very
extensively modified, with VERY sloppy workmanship, and of course no
docs. I mentioned this to the owner. He was aware of that, he got it
that way. Anyway, ALL the oil filled cans were replaced as some were
leaking and gooey. With all it's 'extra' holes this set will never be a
collectors item, but the owner said just put it in good electrical
order, so I did.
Anyway, that's not the topic of this message. After the BC-224 has gone
"home to papa" I plan to service a URM-25D signal generator that I have
sitting here (I haven't yet plugged it in). This will fill a big gap in
my test gear. The case, sans lid, is quite beat up. Apparently the
edges were bent bad enough that it couldn't be removed from the case and
had to be straightened out before I got it (some spring snaps are
missing too). I took it out of the case and it appears to be in
otherwise good condition and worth fixing up.
QUESTIONS:
1. Does anybody have a case and lid in fair to good condition, perhaps
from a junked out unit? Price shipped to California 95348? (I won't be
ready for it for awhile yet anyway).
2. Once before somebody directed me to a site where there was some good
repair info on these, I lost the link.
3. This one was made by MFR 66150. Who is that please?
