I dunno, Pete -- hmmmm.. How long does it take to _walk_ from Michigan to New Jersey? Maybe they forgot to put it on something with wheels.
Seriously, though, I've never cared for media mail or "bound printed matter" for that reason, but have been more recently surprised at how quickly some media mail packages have delivered. I suppose it's still inconsistent. Possible it was misrouted to Rangoon.
They say Ben Franklin started regular postal service in this country, but it was just between Philadelphia and New York City, or was it Boston? Anyway, word is that it was faster than first class mail between the same two points today.
