If you can find a thermal converter, as used in the BC-442 for example, yes. You
will have to recalibrate it.

Another way is to use a RF Current Transformer and a bridge of low forward drop
(Schottkty or Ge) diodes.

Depending on the frequency and current range you need, I'd look for a
cosmetically challenged BC-442 or the ARC-5 equivalent.
