Well Bill, if you look back at the info for this and other lists, I
don't think it says anywhere that someone has to "listen" to anything
in particular, anymore than it says that every post has to be
technical in nature. Part of the lore, if you will, of boatanchors as
we know them, is ALSO learning about the history and experiences of
others with respect to the gear, how it was used, where and how they
got it, etc.

True, but not not entirely. If you hold a view or impression that you
picked up somewhere along the line that is incorrect, but you never
make reference or 'hear' anyone speak of it, you've lost out. I've
learned a great deal being corrected by those in the know. I've
explained things I didn't completely (or even remotely) understand and
ended up with an entirely different, but much more accurate view
afterwards. I'm not the type to be just a taker, though: I try to
contribute as well, even if it seems insignificant to most. Type of
knob used on xx receiver, which beer works best for radio repair,
where to find antenna wax - good things like that. One thing I DON'T
do is expect every post made on a forum such as this to be tailored
just to *my* tastes and what I consider to be relevant with respect to
old radio equipment.

Okay, Bill. But only if you agree to try ignoring things that don't
particularly agree with your views, and you give up attempting to
threaten people into doing things your way or else. It's somewhat
childish, and sounds too much like those people who say "If no one
gives me a million dollars for this, I'm gonna put it on epay!!". In
other words, please don't feel that you need to inform the entire list
if you don't like a topic: the list admin is more than capable of
dealing with something that is truly out of bounds. Instead, try the
simple approach: don't participate in threads you don't like or have
no interest in. Or, if it's too terrible and you're really set on
going - just leave. Actions speak louder than words, and all that. If
the result will be as awful or menacing as your email attempted to
imply, I'm sure we will notice when you're gone.

We got a deal here, Bill? Shake on it?

Here's the funny part Bill: if you go back and read the entire thread,
I don't even think you'll find a post from me in it until after the
post you quoted here. I didn't participate, and I didn't even feel the
need to chastise those who did. Amazing.
