I spent a good part of my adult life moving about the country. For
consumer electronics, such as telephones, answer machines, TVs,
recorders, CB radios, it is nice to know that no matter where I go, I
can take my Radio Shack product in for repair.

For some small build it yourself kits, they had some good products.

For modern HAM radio equipment, they may have what you need to make
repairs. For the older tube radios, forget it.

I have two local Radio Shack stores and the manager of the one in the
Largo Mall is married to an electronic organ technician and she knows
her electronics. The second store has a good manager but the one
assistant qualifies for the dumb look award, or maybe I just am
prejudiced about guys with long hair and earrings. He does look dumb to
me.
