Well, no. They can be pretty nice radios, I'm told, but they're sand-state
radios, and hence not as heavy as, say, an FRR-59 or R-390. They're not 
even in the same weight class as an R-1051, which does have a pair of real
glowbottles in its heart. 

They're just old sand-state radios intended for cruise ships or merchies:
no fire in their hearts, and certainly not band-cruisers.
