[Boatanchors] National NCX-3

Well Ah,
I can't say I have used one YET. However I currently own four of the
EICO
753 transceivers that these are similar to. It took a bit to get them
all
working properly, as per the manual for them. However once they were all
aligned I had no problems using them on 80-40-20 meters, both in a
mobile
and fixed environment.

On CW they actually put out close to 175 watts, on SSB the stations I
talked
with said it sounded like the Kenwood TS430 type rig. They were amazed
when I told them it was a tube type rig.

One important caveaut is on 80 and 40 the ssb is on lower and not
switch-
able, and on 20 it is upper and not switchable. Again however, on CW
from
the mobile the rig performed great. Having the matching power supplies
is
a plus if you decide to get the rig.

I have been considering getting the NCX-3 setup to have for a comparison
rig. I really like my 753s and before anyone chimes in NO they don't
drift.
