Now Bill you know the guys doing on the cheap "Nothing ever happens to 
them" I bet he grounded his radio in the house wiring and with no 
lightening protection and good antenna selector cause they cost 
toooooo!!!! much.

I have my towers, main Amp. and shack on a ground field consisting of 31 
8 foot rods all interconnected with clamps and #6 wire buried 18"
plus going through gas discharge lightening arresters with my antenna 
selectors with grounding contacts. We get very little lightening here in
So.CAL.
