I have seen one HQ-150 with the reddish knobs and a
color photograph of another one. They are no where
near as common as the HQ-140X but there are some
around. Of course someone could have "liked" the
reddish knobs better and changed them from an HQ-140X.
However, the knobs on the Q-Multiplier were also the
reddish tint. But, back in the 1950s you could
purchase all sorts of parts from National "off the
shelf" so I would suspect that the various colored
knobs were available.

I've seen plenty of -140s with the brown knobs, never
a -150 though. My understanding is that the 140s were
first sold with these but switched to black and the
brown knobs used up. I would think that any -150s
sporting brown knobs got them as a result of someone
putting unoriginal knobs on and a new owner using the
brown ones from a -140 to get back closer to original.
