Well of course this begs the question, what is the best radio for cooking?  
When my wife was doing most of the cooking, she used a Hallicrafters TW-2000 
she  talked me into giving her after I restored it. When I took over the cooking 
 about a year ago, I switched to an SX-130 for a while, but now have settled 
on  an SX-28. Things just seem to go better with an SX-28. You can use it 
directly  for things like pressed duck. An SX-28 is so handy in the kitchen, you 
can keep  food warm on the top, or even use it as a slow cooker by wrapping 
your meal in  aluminum foil and balancing it on top of the 5Z4 and 6V6's! (Beef 
stew takes  about 5 hours this way.)  What more could you want?
