Well it pays to read past the front cover of the manual where it tells
you how to turn the radio on!  Had i done so i would have seen that the
6BE6 tubes were the 1st mixer (V102), Band one mixer (V103) and the 2nd
mixer (V106) and not the IF tubes.  The IF tubes are 6BA6 types as they
should be.  Maybe that makes more sense to those with good heads on
their shoulders.

My apologies for getting everyone shook up about what kind of miscreant
i had here.
