In my case, when I was dating my wife, I had only recently graduated from college, was broke, living in an apartment.  My only ham radio was a 2 meter Kenwood TR7600.  So that little TR7600 was ham radio to her when we got married.  Somewhere between then and now there was a rude awakening when I got the BA craze and filled the spare bedroom with old big heavy radios  :->>>>
