>From my own collection, this is an exceptional R390A.
Made by Stewart Warner in 1960(Contract No.
201-39-PC-60)and professionally refurbished by
Miltronix in 1999. The process included the following:
disassemble, clean, and lubricate the gear train;
check component values and replace where found to be
out-of-spec., completely align per manual, and
refinish the front panel and knobs. The appearance is
as-new, and the receiver is unmodified except for
solid state replacement of the troublesome ballast
tube.
The receiver is housed in the correct military
cabinet, which is itself something to behold. This
one was purchased NOS about 8 years ago. It remains
in the same condition as when it was removed from the
box, i.e., mint. These cabinets are quite rare and
expensive, even when well worn.
An original field and depot maintenance manual is
included.
I feel confident in claiming that this R390A is among
the best you are likely find.
A photo is posted on my webpage (link from QRZ.com).
Additional information will gladly be provided upon
request. Additional photos can be taken for those
with a serious interest.
The price is $1500. I am willing to ship, but pickup
is strongly preferred.
