Appreciate the most helpful notes.

I should have mentioned that the 'Geiger counter-like noise' goes 100% away - 
at times - after I transmit using the modulator.

It wouldn't be a big deal to change out the few 'lytics...just for good 
measure...but I'd like to 'logic' this problem out...IF can be done.

Any way I can trace it using an O'scope?
