FYI...
30 yrs ago I swapped an MPF102 for the tube in a GD-1B.
9V batt. Still works 250KHz-160MHz but has holes due to
chokes I'm using. Tuff to find the right combo.

I heard the Millen choke(s) don't have any holes, so an
MPF102 might just do the trick.

Last year I converted a dead Heath Tunnel Dipper
using the N1AL chokeless ckt in May 2003 QST with 3N201's.
Stock cap/coils. Calibration close. RCA jack out to counter.
9V batt dropped to 4-5V. FB 3-160MHz, no choke, no holes.
