Hi Jeff,

Any chance of running yours on batteries? Few penlights for filament, and 
some 9v batts in series for the B+? I don't know the device but I've done 
that with tube radios just for grins. Taped 9v batts all the way around.

Might be practical for the short periods you'd need to use it.
