Mahlon, on mine R33 is a 3.3k 10% 1/2W CC and Q3 is a GE D40V1U which 
crosses to an NTE228A.  Both appear original.

I don't have the manual either but if you find one I'd be grateful for a 
copy.  I can't spend the 20 or so the resellers get.
