[Boatanchors] Landed on my doorstep

I guess we shouldnt be TOO hard on the new generation. Their
"ignorance" can sometimes
be our "bliss" or windfall.
I have had several occasions where friends who own repair shops .... and
even customers ...
have told me that they dont know anything about tubes ... wont work on
tube equipment...
and dont want to do either. I've even had one person remark that he
didnt even know WHAT
a tube was.... (imagine trying to contain my reaction) .... He'd never
ever seen a glowing filament.
As a result, they have given me for NOTHING or next to nothing ....
a few fine amps and
other radio equipment, which I have easily and happily repaired and
either used or sold or traded.
I have one 500 watt amp in the shack that I got for TWENTY BUCKS
because it is tubed...
