Davie,

Somehow Prof. Dave with his gray beard on a crotch car with a GPS antenna on top
of his crash helmet thundering down the dusty cow trails in Cut N' Shoot, TX is
an image I have trouble with!

I have the dual band, but no GPS. I do have the USA map software that talks,
however. Not sure it would be of much use in your case though, unless you had a
headset on.

I have decided that I need other toys!

As promised, the denizens of these lists get first chance at acquiring
the radio.

It is fully operational and has a home brew outboard AC isolated power
supply.

Cosmetically it shows the normal chips and scratches. No modifications
to the chassis or front panel. All appears to be original including the
knobs. I have photographs available on request.

I am more interested in trading than selling. I have requirements
several items (NOT collectibles) needed to outfit an older Honda
GoldWing I acquired last week.

1. Icom 706MkIIG: Used is OK but MUST be in excellent operating
condition. Accessories are not required. SSB Filter would be nice.

OR:

2. Icom 2720 Dual Band transceiver PLUS a compact current model GPS (no
handheld) capable of being mounted with computer interface and software.
Map software must come with the unit. Again, used equipment is fine. The
items must be fully operational.

Cosmetics is not an issue.

We have an active Amateur Radio motorcycle group in the area that is
committed to provide communications for several public service events
including a 150 mile bicycle ride. Thus the specific needs.

If there is no response, I guess the next place is the "unmentionable" site.

Dave, W5WP
