[Boatanchors] BAMA registration

Several times I have received the username/password prompt when using BAMA.
There was an anonymous userid setup that was indicated as an option. I
chose that and I was in. I am thinking that it was a problem with an
automatic login script that caused you to have to login manually.

It's funny, in a way, that one of the major problems that folks have
with BAMA is the fault of good old Microsoft Internet Explorer. In
addition to being one of the favorite targets of hackers, determined to
exploit its many weaknesses, it flat out lies to BAMA users. I switched
to Mozilla Firefox simply because I was concerned about security with
Internet Explorer. I was pleasantly surprised when I connected to BAMA
with Firefox to download a file and had a window open up saying, "Alert
- The maximum number of anonymous FTP users (10) are already
connected...try back in a few minutes." Wow! A true statement as
opposed to the spurious "you need to give your username and password,"
or some other completely bogus statement.

BAMA does not require an account and/or password. Never has. It's
open. It's free. But it will only serve 10 of you at any one time. Of
course you can go to the mirror site which allows 50 connections. If
you prefer, you can go on epay and buy the material that has been taken
off of the BAMA site by some slimebucket who is happily profiting from
someone else's labor. In any case, you do not need an account to
download anything from BAMA!
