Eugene-
Suggest you download the IP-259 package in the Panoramic directory at
BAMA. It includes the schematic for the Panoramic SB-8A which uses a 6BE6
mixer as the input stage with an external LO to translate arbitrary input
frequencies to the panadaptor input frequency.

You want to get the signal for the panadaptor just ahead of the IF
stages. On a SP-600 that would be the plate of the second mixer.
There is a good section on connecting panadaptors to many common receivers
in the Panoramic PR-1 manual, also available at BAMA.
Finally, if you want to add a buffer stage between your receiver and the
panadaptor, see "Cathode-coupled Ampifier for Panoramic Adaptors" in CQ
magazine for August 1946.

Contact me offline if you need the CQ article.
