[Boatanchors] 51J3 vs SP600?

The SP-600 is OK on 80 and 40 meters. But, by the
time that you get up to 6 meters every one of them
that I have ever seen is "drift city" (and are pretty
drifty on 15 and 10 meters as well).
Now, when the military used them for RTTY links they
used the JX (crystal controlled) versions. In that
configuration they went for years without any
problems.
Like any unit there are probably individual units that
are better than "average" and "worse" than average.
Unfortunately, at least in my experience, all of the
various SP-600 models that I have had anything to do
with were drifty.

Am I the only one that has a non drifting SP-600?
Maybe for the first few minutes of warm-up but after
that, rock stable. As for tuning SSB, I have no
trouble doing that either, just takes a little playing
with and in a short time, you have the knack.
