[Boatanchors] 51J3 vs SP600?

OK, my two cents worth.
Every single word said on this discussion is true. But if you want to just
have ONE radio, my vote would go for a R-390 non A. It's stable enough for
RTTY. It sounds real good on SSB due to the fine AGC circuit and even
better if you do the product detector mod. It sounds wonderful on AM, with
up to 16 kc of bandwidth. . It's selective enough to do well on CW. It's
sensitive enough to hear a f__t in a wind storm.
OK, it's not a wonderful bandcruiser but after a year you will have wrists
like Hercules!

Keith, VE3TS
