[Boatanchors] Radio transmitter ranges

Helllo All,
Since, it is a Army TM, and everything Signal Corps, I'm certain we are talking land miles (1.6 km= 1 mi.) since communication is done mainly on tera firma.  Now, if it were a NAV SEAS Manual, I suggest we get an input from a NAVY EM.
