[Boatanchors] Has anyone here ever "built" a SP-600?

In general, I wouldn't fool with the design very much, but . . .

(1) The 7-wire RF deck means that the screen voltages to the IF amplifier 
tubes is unregulated. You should probably put in some regulation for it, 
either with a zener diode or an OB2 regulator. Otherwise you can get some 
intermodulation.

(2) The IF gain control that the JX-17 uses is real handy and not hard to 
add. Be sure to use shielded cable, though.

Other than that, I wouldn't fiddle with it too much.
