GA gents and ladies.............
Some have already mentioned these but I'll add my $0.02 worth by echoing the
comments made about the RCA WV-98 series as being one fine meter. Mirrored
scale, large meter face and dependable operation over many years are key
points.
There are RF probes available for the WV-98x meters but don't despair if you
cannot locate one. Just build it. Simple, easy and works fb for the
average ham use.
That said, I would be remiss if I didn't also point out that the EICO and
HEATH VTVM's are not too shabby for average, everyday use.
I have one of the HEATH IM-13's that performs just fine. I recently sold a
local ham one of the early HEATH V-5 units so that he could perform
measurements on his newly acquired Heath SB-series rigs. That old VTVM still worked
just fine and was accurate enough for his needs.
One can find any of the above from $10 on up. A local ham friend just
bought a WV-98 from that not-to-be-named source for ~ $75. It's a looker, and it
works fb.
Gud luck with ur pursuit of a good meter.
