The former owner was Dennis (I forgot his last name) located in Ohio and 
he was also a Ham. Began in his garage and I used to sell him capacitors 
through my former company. As I recall he was a pleasant guy, excellent 
engineer but a poor businessman and went out of business owing  a lot of 
money.

I still own a Clipperton-L which has been recapped, broadband tuning 
installed and two years ago needed a HV xformer but it has been a proven 
winner and taken me to Honor Roll on CW-SSB and Mixed.  Cannot complain 
about the quality and service for an old amp which still puts out 1250W 
on a daily basis.
