[Boatanchors] Solid State Tube Testers - Hmmmm??

Hi:

Has anyone thought about designing and building a solid state type, self-calibrating Transconductance tube tester?
I have and I think it can be done at a reasonable cost too. Perhaps the key to this machine is mating it up to a home computer for results readout and test set up data.  Imagine: automatic tube matching, overnight dynamic burn in, menu driven test routines and probably much more. 
So far I have an outline sketch in my head for this project but I would really like to hear from you if you have similar thoughts or have already tested the water.
