It wasn't talcum powder.  Talcum powder has a
different color from what Motorola was using. 
Motorola's powder was a brillant "blue-white" and all
the talcum powder that I have seen is no where as
brillant.  However, talcum powder might be something
to experiment with.  It is sure "cheap" enough.
