Nice Subject, I have owned Heathkits and Ecio's, but the one I like the
best and still have is an National[ Radio Institute Model 34. It has a
four band TRF tuner section( 170Kc to 11Mc ), magic Tuning Eye, and a
Very high gain Audio section with an built in speaker. It is a bit bigger
then the Heathkit and Eico, but it works well. I use it as an AM
Broadcast Receiver when working at the bench and with a Long Wire hooked
up it pulls in a fair amount of SW stations as well. Just my opinion, but
I think this one Great.
