Two-phase is an archaic 4-wire power system which may still be in use in
some heavy industrial facilities in the northeastern US. The two phases are
90 degrees phase shifted from each other. I doubt that any new two-phase
systems have been installed during our lifetimes.
The common US domestic wiring system is correctly called a 120/240v Single
Phase system.
