Hi,
I guess I didn't fully describe what I meant when I said "AC type AM broadcast radios" I meant ones like the Hallicrafters S120 shortwave that does not use a transformer at all. Part of the AC line is directly attached to the chassis. I have heard in the past never to put a three wired plug on them.
