There are a couple of possible issues, IMO:
First, make sure there is isolation between the 12 V ground and the output ground in the inverter. An inverter with a 3 prong socket and a grounded cord on the radio is a
good idea. You want to forestall the possibility of shocks.
Also, you might want to choose an inverter with some kind of filter on the AC output to minimize spiky stuff and the resultant EMI.
I'd suggest you 'try before you buy' if you can.
