Hello Duanne,
To determine the formula for Xtal Freq to Opr Freq would require which frequency scheme is involved for a particular piece of radio equipment. Every equipment manual worht its salt will have the formulas to determining Crystal Frequency or also some will have the Xtal to Operating Freq formula. The Type Crystal, Cut, Overtone, etc is a determining factor on what circuit parameters are involved to make it funtion at its optimum level. The CR Type is very handy. I know that Collins Radio has several crystals in the 8 Mhz region. I'm not certain but I thought that there were of the CR-18A or CR-24A types. Doon't hold me to this. What other information is on the Crystal?
