I've been running a SB-200 and Johnson Courier on AM for about the last
15 years. Both use a pair of 572B's in the final. With approx. 20 watts
of drive, output from the SB-200 is about 150 watts. Given the type of
tubes of used in the final, I wouldn't push them much higher than that.
Tube life, among other things, would most likely be shortened. SB-220, or
a quad set of 572B's in an amplifier, or a higher power amplifier would
provide a much higher output.
