Shipping from the Uk has always been a costly exercise
BUT

I have found that if you ship to an international airport for collected by 
the buyer, this can seriously reduce the cost.

Personally I don't see ebay there as another means for commercial sales, it 
is for private stuff.
Now on this basis packing is, in reality free, so I only charge the r e al 
cost of the carrier.  As a Private sale I have included haldf an hour or so 
oputting the item into a card box and strapping it down.
