Olaf,
The manual on BC-224-C and BC-348-C is T.O. 08-10-47, dated 14 November 1940.
Hard copy reprint is available for $21 plus shipping.
In 1947, Hallicrafters built and marketed an AC operated power supply for the
BC-348's called the EP-298. I've never seen or heard of anyone who had seen
one of the supplies, but I do have the 4-page instruction booklet.
Modifications to the radio are minimal (and reversable). Hard copy of the instructions
$2.00 shipped or I'll email you the .TIF.
FWIW, I have and have scanned almost every manual ever printed on the BC-224
and BC-348 (except BC-224-A and -B and BC-348-B). Even those done at 600dpi
are all under 50MB. To get a file size over 100MB the scanner must have been
running 256 gray scale or even color. Very wasteful of drive space, and the
quality of the results is actually poorer than if properly done.
