[Boatanchors] Japanese Radio

In 1948, a local ham, Frank Spivey, loaned my brother and I his Japanese 
hand held radio he picked up in the Pacific during WW2.  It must have been 
of 1939-1941 vintage as many of the parts were American.  It was about the 
size of a brick but lighter.  Frequency output in the 10 meter band and 
used a single type 30 modulator oscillator which double as a direct 
conversion receiver.  Anyone got any idea what it was?
