[Boatanchors] are all 6550's created equal?

  Eugene,

I have a 100V also. I bought a pair of JAN 6550's. I also have a pair
of TungSols. The JAN's do not have anywhere near the output of the
TungSols. The JAN's are not the coke bottle type. Does that signify
anything? I don't know. Could I adjust tune up to compensate? Have
not tried.

The construction and inter electrode capacitance is probably different.
If it meant the output circuit had to be retuned, I would give up.
That 100V passband circuit seems to be more of a black art than a science.

Good luck,

Bill, K3PGB

I was wondering if I bought a pair that were advertised from an audio-related company if they are the same and would work for me (ce 100v). For example, here is a pair on the eplace that seem reasonably priced... thoughts? epay item# 7340864412
