I see someone snatched it up for a decent price. A very good deal
IMHO, probably sold cheap since it was a lower end, entry level-type
rig. Clegg made some very nice gear, clean examples are always nice to
see. I have the Zeus/Interceptor combo for 2m and Venus/Apollo for 6m
SSB, so I'm also set. Just need to find more users in the northeast to
talk with. (o:

Too bad they never put the Comet into production. I had given to me
one of the 6 original unfinished prototypes that will eventually look
complete, but probably never function. Looks almost identical to the
22er MKII. Ed said they never really worked right, so the project was
killed. He also said they were "tested to destruction" and was
surprised to hear that at least some had survived long enough to make
it to a surplus property sale or such.

Very well-made stuff utilizing quality components, with some pretty
interesting names. You gotta love gear with names like Thor, Zeus,
Interceptor and so on, and those Eddystone tuning dials. Sometimes
referred to as the Collins of VHF. I'd rather have the Clegg station
over the 62S-1 anyday!
