If you participated in the HCI Special Event marking the 1000th consecutive Net
with W8DBF as the NCS for Hallicrafters Collector's International, the
absolutely gorgeous commemorative certificates are ready to start their journey
to your Ham Shack for display.
There is a list of all who checked in on the HCI web site. If your name is not
there, and you did check in or try to check in and were not heard, contact me
direct.
If you were unable to check in because you are not a licensed Ham, do not have a
General class license or higher or are a SW/MW/LW/FM listener, and wrote to
register for a certificate and did not receive a reply from me, please contact
me at once.
What do you need to send? A ready to use address label with your name, call sign
and address on it. A QSL is always appreciated, but is not a requirement. If you
want to make a donation to help defray postage and printing, it will be
welcomed, but is 'not' a requirement. Please do 'NOT' send a SASE! A special
large envelope with reinforced backing is being used to protect the certificate,
we hope!
Where do you mail it to?

I would like to say a very special thank you to the two Hams, and long time
vintage Hallicrafters devotees, who put this certificate together. W5JT, Jim
Thayer of Indiana who did the initial basic layout of the photos and text
supplied by yours truly. K0TLG, Tom Guntzel of Minnesota who did the artistic
formatting and worked with me to present a story told by photos using special
fonts and clever background graphics. This certificate is a credit to their
combined talents and willingness to devote quite a few hours to creating a
beautifully colorful, graphically unique and easy on the eyes certificate you
will be proud to frame and hang in the Ham Shack, Outhouse wall by the old Sears
catalog or perched atop the warmly glowing Hallicrafters or other vintage rig.
Please stop procrastinating, this is not like having to mail in your federal
income tax with a check drawn on the vintage radio fund account! Yes Dale, you!
I know it is on the dash of your Jeep Cherokee! Casey, you left it in the back
pocket of your Levis and the XYL ran it through the washing machine, dry it out
and mail them guys!
Thanks to all who participated, it was fun. If I am still around for number
2000, I want a cake and a party at the Dayton Hamvention! One of those cakes
where the girl wearing little more than a smile pops up out of, holding a SX-115
for me! We can use K9EID, Bob Heil's, thirty-two room castle on wheels to party
in, right Bob? But for now, get those lingering labels to me!
