I picked up one of said receivers last week and have some questions.
1st, anyone else have one? 2nd, on the PTO, there is a small tube
sticking up that i think is filled with desiccant. I've had different
thoughts on this. One fellow said he had not heard of such on a J-2.
It seems to me i had seen another PTO that had this tube also. Can't
place it now as it's been a long time back.
ANyone have any paper on this receiver? It's nice and clean. no serial
number on the tag although it does read "Collins Radio Company". The
filter capacitor is a 2 X 35 ufd @ 450V and is a 4 pin plug in type.
It's mounted on a small bracket that sets below the regular chassis.
Also is there someone who makes covers for these? Seems someone was
doing that in the past year or so but i don't remember which receiver it
was other than the 390 series. Bottom cover doesn't to be much more
than a piece of aluminum with a 90 degree lip on the back.
ANy help out there? This one is similar to the 75A-2 in size but i
think it's more like a 51J-3 or r-388 type.
Thanks for any feedback.
